Biography


JOHN COURTNEY, CKD brings over twenty-three years of expertise to the unique services offered by Herriot Kitchen Design. John established Herriot in 2005, following an eighteen year co-ownership of a prominent kitchen design studio in Toronto, Canada.
In 1996 John attained the professional designation of Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) awarded by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). Throughout his career John's designs have made him a consistent visitor to the NKBA Design Awards podium, winning awards in many areas including kitchen, bar and home office design.
John has been an active participant in the NKBA Design Competition Committee as well as being a member of the Competition Judging Panel, reviewing projects from designers across Canada.
John was also honoured with the First Place Kitchen Design Award in the annual competition hosted by Britain's prestigious Kitchen + Bath magazine, representing Canada in the International Design Competition finals in the United Kingdom.
In recent years, John's designs have featured in several magazines including the American publication, Kitchens by Professional Designers.
